Internship Overview – Build Real-World Health Tech Products
As a Software Engineering Intern at Hinge Health, you’ll work on impactful features in a fast-paced Agile environment. You will contribute to our iOS, Android, and web applications, supporting real production code, from back-end APIs to front-end UI components. You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers, participate in code reviews, and grow your skills with our modern tech stack including TypeScript, Node.js, React Native, Python, Docker, GraphQL, Kubernetes, AWS, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on live projects impacting Hinge Health’s mobile and web platforms
- Write clean, testable, and production-quality code using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and modern frameworks
- Develop and enhance APIs, automate processes, and support technical operations
- Gain exposure to machine learning (ML) and large language models (LLMs) integration into product features
- Assist in addressing technical debt, improving scalability, and maintaining live-site reliability
- Engage in Agile ceremonies and work closely with mentors and senior engineers
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and basic understanding of data modeling
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern development tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Frontend development experience using React.js, HTML, CSS
- Backend knowledge of Node.js, Python, or related frameworks
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Experience with AI/ML concepts, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging tools
- Participation in hackathons, research projects, or personal software projects
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
